The Level 1 Practical Plumbing
Certificate course is designed to educate candidates in the
skills and knowledge they require to gain an understanding of
basic household plumbing tasks. Successful candidates can use
this trade recognised qualification to help them gain
employment within the plumbing industry, or in some cases, to
progress to higher-level qualifications, including NVQ's
(National Vocational Qualifications).

|
There are no specific
requirements for the Level 1 Basic Plumbing Certificate
training and assessment. Application is open to both male and
female candidates aged 16 years and over. |
|
|
Candidates will be
trained in the basic
principles and practical aspects of domestic plumbing, and gain the
skills required to carry out numerous practical tasks including
pipe bending and joining, layout and installation, sanitary ware
installation, domestic
central heating systems, plus all the generic modules of Health and
Safety. |

Course duration: 16 weeks |

The course will consist of both
practical, and theory based training sessions. All course work
books and hand-outs are provided with this course. |

- Copper tube installation,
fabrication, and testing.
- Plastic pipe
installation and fabrication.
- Plumbing
principles and processes.
- Sanitation and
drainage systems.
- Domestic hot
and cold water systems.
- Sanitary ware installation.
Candidates will install a full bathroom suite, including hot
and cold water supply, and waste pipe system.
- Fix and install
panel radiators to system pipe work (Central heating systems
design).
- Installation of
rainwater guttering system, and knowledge of drainage
system.
- Installation and connection
of domestic household appliances including washing machines
and kitchen sink units.
- Repairs and
maintenance of domestic plumbing systems.
- Topic
exams and assessments.

The Level 1 Basic Plumbing
Certificate can help candidates gain employment within the plumbing

Domestic Natural Gas
Foundation Training Course. |
