Walsall Training Centre Lend A Hand On The BBC's DIY SOS. |
| |
|
When Walsall
Training Centre were approached by the producers of the
popular BBC TV design program DIY SOS to ask if we would be
willing to assist with a local project at the home of a
Wolverhampton couple, Paul and Pauline Whitehouse, and their 6
children, 1 of whom, Laura, has Down's Syndrome, and including
twins who both have learning difficulties, we were only too
glad to say yes, and offer our services to the DIY SOS team
and the Whitehouse family. |

Training
Centre Manager Steve Edis said "We were only too pleased
to help out. The whole experience of filming the show was
brilliant, and one that we'll never forget. We were only
to happy to give up our time to this more than worthwhile
project, and hope that the family were pleased with the
over all outcome of the project".
Accompanied by a
number of clients from the centre, who were studying for
their BPEC Gas Foundation qualifications, the WTC team |

gave an helping hand through out the project which
included the installation of a brand new fitted kitchen,
the installation of a new central heating system, and the
addition of a brand new ground floor shower room which was
purpose built for the use of the
couples daughter Laura. Training
Centre Manager Steve Edis went on to say; " The addition of
the new ground floor shower room will benefit Laura and the
rest of the family immensely, it's amazing how much difference
small changes to the home can make for a family such as the
Whitehouse family". |
