Course overview:
 

This course will provide an insight into the changes between BS7671 (2001) and BS7671 (2008). It will focus on the changes in terminology, new additions, deleted regulations, and the reasoning behind the new tabulated values. It is designed to provide candidates with a thorough understanding of the 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.

 

Important information.

It is assumed from the outset that candidates have knowledge of BS7671 (2001). If this is not the case, even though you may hold one of the certificates listed above, it is recommended that you sit the full City & Guilds 2382 10 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) programme.

Correct selection and erection of equipment.

Inspection and testing.

 
  Entry requirements:

Candidates must hold one of the following certified qualifications to undertake this course:-

City & Guilds 2381 Level 3 certification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations BS7671 (June 2001).

City & Guilds 2330 07 Level 3 certification in Electro Technical Technology Installation (Building and Structures).

City & Guilds 2330 08 Level 3 certification in Electro Technical Technology Electrical Maintenance).

City & Guilds 2360 Level 3 certification in Electrical Installation Part 2 (obtained on or after January 1st 2004).

Candidates will need to provide, in advance of the course date, their original certificate for authenticity of the award, and a copy of their original certificate which will be kept by the training provider for our records. They will also need to provide photographic Identification (either a passport or picture driving licence) to confirm their identity.

  Assessment methods:

Candidates are required to undertake a 1 hour, 30 question multi choice, open book, PC based examination via the City & Guilds 'GOLA' system. Results will be received immediately.

  Course outcome / Qualification:

Successful candidates will obtain Level 3 City & Guilds certification in the Requirements for Electrical Installations and BS7671 (2008) 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Update certification.
