This course is aimed
at candidates wishing to learn more about
domestic plumbing systems. The course gives
candidates hands on experience to tackle any
domestic plumbing application, and is ideal for
anyone contemplating an household DIY project,
looking to progress to higher level training or,
seeking employment within the plumbing industry.
This course has been designed specifically to
train candidates in differing aspects of
domestic plumbing. From copper tube application
and hot and cold pipe work installation, to full
bathroom suite installation. |

content and modules: |

The course consists
of the following topic areas:- |
| |
|
Fabricating,
bending, and joining copper tube. |
|
|
|
Safe working
practises. |
|
|
|
Installation of 2
panel radiators and related pipe work. |
|
|
|
Installation of
kitchen sink, complete with hot and cold water
supply and waste pipe work. |
|
|
|
Installation of a
full bathroom suite and all related pipe work. |
|
|
|
Routine repairs and
maintenance. |
|
|
|

duration: |
|
|
5 weekdays or 2
weekends. |

Modes
of attendance: |

|
Weekdays -
Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm. |
|
|
|
Weekends (x2) -
Saturday & Sunday 8:30am to 5:00pm |
|

Assessment
methods: |
|
|
Candidates will
assessed on 100% hands-on practical
training, and on theory based learning. |
|
|
|
Course
outcome / Qualification: |
|
|
Successful
completion of this course will allow
candidates to competently carry out most
household DIY projects, or could lead to
higher-level training, including NVQ
certification, or even help them seek work
within the plumbing industry. |
