The Level 1 Basic
Plumbing Certificate has been designed for
candidates who require an understanding of basic
household plumbing, or who wish to gain
employment within the plumbing trade. Successful
completion of this course allows candidates to
progress to higher level qualifications,
including NVQ's. This course covers the basic
principles and practical aspects of domestic
household plumbing. |

The course consists
of the following practical and theory based
topic areas:- |

Health & Safety. An
introduction outlining basic Health & Safety
requirements. |

|
|
Copper tube
installation, fabrication, and testing. |
|
|
|
Plastic pipe
installation and fabrication. |
|
|
|
Plumbing principles
and processes. |
|
|
|
Sanitation and
drainage systems. |
|
|
|
Domestic hot and
cold water systems. |
|
|
|
Sanitary ware
installation. Installation of a full bathroom
suite, including hot and cold water supply and
waste pipe system. |
|
|
|
Fix and install
panel radiators to system pipe work (central
heating system design). |
|
|
|
Installation of
rainwater guttering system, and knowledge of
draining systems. |
|
|
|
Install and connect
domestic household appliances, washing machines,
and kitchen sink units. |
|
|
|
Repairs and
maintenance for domestic plumbing systems. |
|
|
|
Topic examinations
and end assessments. |
