| Course
overview: |
| |
|
This course is aimed
primarily at practising plumbing and heating
engineers who already have some knowledge of the
fundamental requirements of above ground
drainage and rain water systems. It is designed
to update their knowledge in accordance with new
up to date Building Regulation requirements.
Candidates will receive a formal tutorial
session and be assessed on a completed workbook
and multiple choice assessments in relation to
Sanitation and Drainage in accordance with up to
date Building Regulation requirements. |

The course consists
of the following topic areas:- |

|
Legislation and key
installation requirements. |
|
|
|
System pipe work
type and design. |
|
|
|
Self seal valves. |
|
|
|
WC macerators and
waste disposal units. |
|
|
|
Commissioning of
above ground sanitation pipe work. |
|
|
|
Rainwater system
design and installation. |
|
|
|
Entry
requirements: |
|
|
There are no set
entry requirements for this course, but
candidates should have some prior knowledge
of above ground drainage and rainwater
systems. |

|
|
1 day. |
|

|

Assessment
methods: |
|
|
Candidates will
receive a course book 3 weeks prior to their
assessment date in order for them to
complete the self learning modules. On the
morning of the assessment date, candidates
will receive a formal tutorial and review of
their completed workbooks. The afternoon
session will consist of a multiple choice
assessment. |

|
|
Course
outcome / Qualification: |
|
|
Successful
candidates will receive APHC (Association of
Plumbing and Heating Contractors)
Installation of Above Ground Sanitary Pipe
Work and Rainwater Systems in Domestic
Properties Certification. |
