Level 1 QCF Health & Safety in Construction

Course Overview:

This National Open College Network course has been designed to develop the knowledge and understanding of health and safety in a construction environment and to enhance the skills needed to enable tradesmen and women to do their work safely and efficiently in their place of work.

Who is the training for:

This course is ideally suited to candidates aged 16 years of age and above wishing to apply for the CSCS Green Card enabling them to work on a UK construction site, and is also suitable for existing operatives and employees for staff development.

Course Duration:

1 to 2 days (in-house training) dependent on the candidates knowledge and experience.

Home Study / Self Learning is also required as part of this course.

Training and Assessment methods:

Training is delivered in our purpose built training centre by our expert professionals. Candidates will also be required to complete some home study / self learning, and assessed by a multiple choice theory examination.

Course Achievements:

Successful candidates will receive fully recognised and accredited Level 1 QCF Health & Safety in Construction certification and qualification.

Progression Routes:

Successful candidates will be able to progress onto the CSCS Green Card test and undertake other training and assessment including:-

Asbestos Awareness
Working at Heighs Access training (Mobile Tower Scaffold)
COSHH Awareness, and
Manual Handling
