ACS COMMERCIAL GAS CATERING – TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

Course Overview:

The National Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) is the industry recognized and accepted route for operatives to gain a certificate of competence which is needed to become a member of the Gas Safe Register.  The scheme is overseen by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS)

Who is this training course for?:

This course comprises of two routes to assessment.

Initial Assessment:  For operatives who hold a current Domestic ACS certificate, are allowed to complete the Commercial Catering Changeover course CoDC1 and applicable elements (see below)

Re-Assessment:  For existing operatives who need to re-new their qualifications CCCN1 which needs to be done every 5 years.

Topic Areas Covered:

·        CoDC1 - Changeover domestic core to commercial catering core)

·        CCCN1 - Commercial Core Catering

·        COMCAT 1 – Install, exchange, disconnect, service, repair breakdown and commission commercial catering appliance in table 1 grouping (Range Cookers, Bain Marie’s, Combination Ovens etc..)

·        COMCAT 3 - Install, exchange, disconnect, service, repair breakdown and commission commercial catering appliance in table 3 grouping (Fat Fryers, Griddles, over & under Grills etc.)

·         

·        COCATA1 – Changeover domestic to commercial catering (Appliances) gas safety

Refresher Training is available for ALL modules but 'is not' a pre-requisite for assessment.

Training and Assessment methods:

Candidates will be assessed both practically and theoretically throughout the course or courses.

Course Achievements:

Successful candidates will be certified in the Non Domestic (Catering) ACS module or modules they undertake enabling them to register with Gas Safe.

Progression Routes (following successful completion of this course):

Successful candidates will be able to progress onto the Commercial Heating Changeover / LPG Changeover Training & Assessment Course and / or the Logic Essential Electrics & Boiler Fault Finding Course.
