COMMERCIAL GAS CATERING INFO
 
CODC1 – Initial changeover from domestic to catering core.
CCCN1 – Re Assessment / Initial catering core.
The Core element will cover the following topics and criteria:
Gas Safety Legislation & Emergency Procedures
Installation of Pipework and Fittings
Products and Characteristics of Combustion
Ventilation and Flueing (make up & extract)
Canopies and extract systems (including catering interlock systems)
Soundness testing and burner pressures
Gas Safety devices and controls
Identification of unsafe situations
Re establishing Gas Supplies and relight
In addition to the core element the appliances covered will be COMCAT 1 & COMCAT 3. Please see below full description of appliance criteria and appliances covered:
 
COMCAT 1:
Free standing oven and solid top range cookers
Stockpot Stoves
Hotplates
Plate warmers / cupboards
Natural Convection Ovens
Combination ovens
Bain Marie’s
Boiling pan range and tables
Ancillary Equipment
 
Entry Requirements:
Candidates must hold the relevant pre requisite qualifications prior to undertaking either Initial Assessment, or a Re Assessment. If you are unsure on which route to undertake, please call the training team an we will be happy to advise you.
 
Course Duration:
It is anticipated that the course (Training & Assessment) will run for 3 days and will include all theory and practical assessments associated with this qualification.
