Gas Foundation Diploma (Part Time)

Course Overview:

This in-depth training course has been specifically developed for persons who are seeking Gas Safe Registration for the first time.  It is designed to teach candidates the practical skills, knowledge and understanding to work safely in the installation, commissioning and servicing of domestic gas appliances and pipe work.

Candidates must provide on-site evidence of gas work supervised by a registered Gas Safe engineer in order to progress onto ACS Gas Assessments.

Who is the training for:

This course is for candidates aged 17+ with a desire to seek employment within the gas industry for the first time.

COURSE DURATION:

2 Evenings per week, Monday & Wednesday, (32 weeks) - 6.00pm-9.00pm, or Saturday (30 weeks), 8.30am-1.30pm

Training and Assessment methods:

Candidates will be assessed both practically and theoretically throughout the course.

Course Achievements:

Successful candidates will be awarded Cert-ain Domestic Gas Foundation certfication and should display a level of competence to undertake their Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) Intial Core Domestic Gas Safety Assessments and any required work related appliances.

Progression Routes (following successful completion of this course):

Successful candidates will be able to progress onto the ACS CCN1 (Core Gas Safety) assessment and the **CENWAT (Boilers and Water Heaters), **HTR1 (Fires and Wall Heaters), **CKR1 (Cooking Appliances), **MET1 (Meters), **DAH1 (Warm Air Heaters) and CPA1 (Combustion Performance Analysis) appliance assessments. ** Subject to ON SITE portfolio content**

Additional Information:

Candidates are required to attend our purpose built Gas Training and Assessment Centre to undertake all "off the job" assessments in accordance with the course criteria.  Once the in-house training has been successfully completed, candidates will then be required to complete the "on the job" evidence from their work placement to be eligible to undertake the ACS CCN1 (Core Gas Safety) assessment and any associated appliance assessments.  Once the ACS assessments are successfully completed, candidates will be able to register with Gas Safe or seek employment with a Gas Safe Registered company as an operative.
