Level 2 Plumbing Foundation Diploma

Course Overview:

This course is designed to give the fundamental knowledge and skill set required to become a professional plumber.  It covers all the industry standards set out by summit skills and provides candidates with all the practical skills and theory knowledge to be competent at level 2 standard.

Who is this training course for?

This course is aimed at both male and female candidates aged 16 years or above who wish to become a pfofessional plumber or who wish to progress to higher level qualifications.  There are no set requirements to enrol on this course.

Course Duration:

The duration of this course varies from 6 weeks full time to 6 months part time, depending on your chosen mode of attendance and is available evenings, weekdays or weekends to suit the needs of the individual.

• D/602/2682 - Understand and carry out site preparation and pipe work fabrication techniques for domestic plumbing and heating systems
• H/602/2697 - Understand and apply domestic cold water system installation and maintenance techniques
• H/602/2884 - Understand and apply domestic hot water system installation and maintenance techniques
• Y/602/2888 - Understand and apply domestic central heating system installation and maintenance techniques
• F/602/2917 - Understand and apply domestic rainwater system installation and maintenance techniques
• J/602/2921 - Understand and apply domestic above ground drainage system installation and maintenance techniques

Training and Assessment methods:

There will be numerous practical assessments made throughout this course including, health & safety, pipe work fabrication (copper, plastic and steel), plastic waste pipe fabrication, installation of radiators and associated pipe work, installation of sanitary ware and associated pipe work, installation of airing cupboard hot water cylinder and cold water cistern, installation of full bathroom suit, installation of centreal heating system, installation of rain water guttering system, electrical safe isollation and earth bonding requirements and maintenance of plumbing components (valves, taps, flushing devices etc).

Theory modules will be those included in the candidates course workbooks along with self-assessments and tutor marked assignments.

There are also 10 online multiple-choice examinations to complete with this course.

Course Achievements:

Successful candidates will receive BPEC Level 2 Plumbing Foundation Diploma certification.

Progression Routes (following successful completion of this course):

Successful candidates will be able to progress onto further higher-level qualifications including NVQ Level 2 Plumbing Diploma or BECK Gas Foundation Diploma.  Successful candidates will also be able to work competently within the plumbing industry.

Course fees vary depending on your chosen mode of attendance and include all tuition fees, awarding body registration and certification, examination and assessment fees, all course materials, course workbooks, tutor marked assignments and progress planning, tutor support (7 day a week) and student practical portfolio.
